Safeguarding Therapy's Mission

Empowered Clients.
Ethical Therapists.
Extraordinary Results.

Safeguarding Therapy’s dual mission: supporting clients in making informed, empowered choices while allowing therapists to deliver ethical, high-impact care.

Safeguarding Therapy exists to create a safer, more ethical, and transparent therapy experience for clients, while also equipping therapists with the tools, support, and accountability to uphold the highest standards in their profession.

We aim to be the bridge between two worlds: the people seeking healing and the professionals who offer it.

Values We Stand For

SGT respect icon

Mutual Respect Always

Therapy is a partnership, not a hierarchy. Both parties deserve transparency, dignity, and a voice.

SGT Empowerment Icon

Informed Empowerment

Clients and therapists alike should be equipped with clear information to make good choices.

SGT Accountability Icon

Transparency, Accountability

Ethical practice thrives in systems that support clarity, feedback, and self-correction.

SGT Healing Icon

Healing-Centered Practice

Therapeutic work should prioritize the full humanity of the client, body, mind, soul.

SGT Growth Icon

Growth Over Perfection

We model self-reflection, repair, and lifelong learning over rigid perfectionism.

SGT Community Icon

Community-Driven Change

We believe in collective wisdom and grassroots transformation, not top-down systems.

The "Why" Behind Safeguarding Therapy

Hi, I’m Nicole, Founder of Safeguarding Therapy.

My story serves as a cautionary tale and a call to action confirming the need to empower therapy clients and ensure that mental health professionals uphold and maintain the highest standards of care.

“Mental health therapy saved my life – but the wrong therapist almost destroyed it.”

In my late 40s, I sought therapy for the first time to heal from a tragic childhood and a traumatic past. Instead, I found myself manipulated by a predatory therapist who blurred professional boundaries, exploiting my vulnerability.

What should have been a safe space for healing became a place of complete re-traumatization and abuse.

Thankfully, I found a new therapist who restored my faith in the process. This experience has left me with a deep, personal understanding of how important it is to safeguard the therapy process — and the clients who trust in it.

Now, more than ever, there’s an urgent need for stronger safeguards in the mental health field. Everyone deserves safe, ethical mental health care. No one should endure what I went through.

“You deserve to have a therapist who upholds the highest ethical standards and provides a safe, nurturing environment for your healing.”

This is the “why” behind Safeguarding Therapy – a platform I have created that is dedicated to raising awareness and promoting ethical practices in the mental health field.

"Turning
a negative
experience
into a positive
resource for others."
